tl;dr in my area in the mid-late 90s the Bengals and Reds wanted bigger stadiums so they tore down Riverfront Stadium and built two stadiums: Paul Brown Stadium (now Paycor Stadium) and Great American Ball Park. It's widely known to be one of the worst deals of all time because while the roads are shit and the police is a joke and there's homelessness, at least the Bengals and Reds have their fancy stadiums (and the Bengals in particular are a notorious money pit).
