I wonder how many people out there are using HDR with a screen that's only technically compatible so it looks like ass but they have effectively gaslit themselves into thinking it looks better because it's cool technology and they want to be in on it.

Probably a decent amount because there are a lot of displays that just barely pass HDR400 which is spec purely made for marketing.
The Switch 2 is HDR and yet it doesn't even have local dimming.
