Naive Japanese thinking European governments enforce their laws consistently :clueless:

@newt @matrix those in belgium seem to work

Those in the netherlands are shit though because our government keeps fucking up healthcare more and more
@fristi @matrix i have a funny story about belgian medicine and utter medical incompetence.
@fristi @matrix long story short, this girl moved to Belgium and after some months her boobs started to grow and hurt when touched. She wasn't pregnant and didn't gain any weight, other than in the boobs.

The doctor said it was normal, because she was from a "poor country" (Poland) and Belgian food made her finally gain what she was missing.
@fristi @matrix yeah, no shit. My main impressions of Belgium are this and two dirty hobos in a park in Antwerp pissing on each other for fun.
@joey @matrix @newt tbh it's not that bad, at least the actual hospitals are not. Not sure if the local physicians are any good though.

I can't say i've had the best experience with the hospitals in my local region though. I've been pretty angry at them multiple times for fucking shit up or just ignoring stuff that should obviously not be ignored.
@fristi @matrix @joey i'm usually just mad at doctors for shit like
* wanting to cut out my healthy kidney
* not being able to diagnose a concussion in time
* saying shit like "your myopia will just be compensated by age-related farsightedness in a decade, you don't need LASIK"
* giving me ibuprofen for a suspected torn muscle with no followup or xray to check for fractures
* ABSOLUTELY UNINTELLIGIBLE HANDWRITING THAT NOT EVEN OTHER DOCTORS CAN READ
@newt @matrix @joey for the last issue, i always ask to have stuff typed out on the computer. I mean they have printers on their desk so it's not even an unreasonable request.

As for the other shit: second opinion, and a second opinion for the second opinion. Get multiple docs involved.
@fristi @matrix @joey i mean, two of these happened in a trauma ward and it's not a place you can immediately get a second opinion at.
@fristi @matrix @newt I've had a few serious accidents and a good run with hospital emergency. They patched me pretty good and the staff caring. That was for serious accidents. People with chronic illness can get a bad run though from what I've heard. Misdiagnosed, fobbed off as it's all in their head and stuff like that.

@matrix
People watch TV to escape reality into an idealized fantasy worlds...

idealized fantasy worlds:

@matrix to be fair, the Monster manga ran from 1994-2001. that was before the massive rapefugee invasion of the 2000s.
