Here is a new aerial image posted at https://www.ruv.is/english/2024-01-14-eruption-north-of-grindavik-401887, that clearly shows the new fissure and its lava flow heading south into the town of Grindavik.
Perhaps the lava flow will cut across town and find its way to the sea and spare most of the houses in Grindavik? Even if so, will Grindavik be livable?
