@Vidmastereon @Immahnoob @bronze @smugumin Some CoD4 reverse engineering/decomp project had a good point, in that why they did it was to relive the days before everything used the same engine, with outsourced devs and AI/corporate whores everywhere.

Custom engines are extremely rare and require a huge bankroll.
Models, textures, animation, and more is outsourced to 3rd world contractors (See Starfield credits). AI is being integrated right now to further degrade the artisanship.
FPS optimization is an afterthought.
Coders are “managed” by non-technical business majors who put them into a box. They are assigned tasks from a sprint instead of being self-driven and just doing what makes obvious sense.
