My 4th gen i5 handles AV1 just fine though, about 35% CPU usage.

I tried it on my i3 laptop and the CPU usage is 50%-75% which is kinda alot.

That's a true, I made my mom's old S3 mini run a community version of LineageOS Android 7.1.2. I never really looked into it.

I don't have my phone rooted, because I don't need it, but I looked into it and it's a pain in the ass and it breaks the camera. The purism phone sounds cool, but I can't get myself to fork over that much money for a promise of a low spec phone.
I kinda want to buy the Razer Phone 2 since it came down in price, but I'm not sure if it's worth it since it's already a year old.
