@andreas @matrix I feel like it wasn't really until the late-00s when devs really went out of the way to make games "accessible" even to unskilled/stupid people. Early 00s had abandoned the "padding via difficulty" design philosophy popular in the 80s, but hadn't yet gone all-in on trying to dumb everything down for casuals.
