Well at it's core GTA Online is quite fun, so people want to play it, however the game is designed to push you towards the shark cards. Everything has time limits, they removed features, disabled replays etc just to make it harder to earn money. Yes you don't have to buy microtransactions but everything pushes you towards them so you either give up on the game or spend shitton on the microtransactions because even when you are good at the game you can't effectively make money.

@LukeAlmighty Because the game is an unbalanced clusterfuck and Rockstar makes earning money a chore and limits farming by doing stuff like disabling replays.

Nah, I think it's that games provide multiple stimuly and you can easily jump between different games and that's why people with ADHD don't get bored.
