"White people are responsible for all the evils in the world" says the uneducated moron who isn't aware that whenever Genghis Khan arrived at a new area and wanted to be *absolutely sure* that everyone respected his power, he would send a lone rider - just one, no more - to each village, in order to pick out around 10% of its population for arbitrary execution.
The rider would choose the villagers at his own discretion. There would be no rhyme nor reason. It may be a young fit working man, or an old woman, or a teenage maiden, or a tiny baby. And then, having picked his charges, he would order them to line up, and for the entire village to just... go along with it, while he, often completely alone and with no present military force to back him up, would execute the unresisting villagers.
This was a show of absolute submission intended to show that the newly found settlements gave the Great Khan power even over their lives and deaths.
When the Mongols reached Nishapur, one of these riders - who turned out, as it happened, to be one of Genghis' many sons-in-law - found himself set upon by the townsfolk and killed.
In retribution, the Mongols gave Nishapur no opportunity to surrender. They didn't even do their usual thing of sparing the most skilled artisans and technicians to add to their army and civilization. They slaughtered every last man, woman and child in Nishapur. Roving bands of Mongols scoured the city so thoroughly that they killed livestock, dogs, cats, and even *rats*, having been ordered to leave absolutely nothing - nothing - alive.
The massacre took almost a week.
At the end of it, Genghis had a *mountain of children's skeletons* built outside of the flaming and ruined city as a warning to any others who dared resist him.
And then the Mongols pressed on, decimating (in the literal sense - executing 10% or so) new places as they went.
Look me in the eye and tell me that isn't evil. Look me in the eye now and tell me that all evil comes from "capitalism" - as evil as it is, that simply isn't true.
These people didn't even *have* money, until they took a few cities and were taught the concept of currency.
Evil is slippery and it resists your definitions. And the longer you pretend it doesn't exist - and pretend there isn't some evil inside you, too - the more you miss.
