I prefer Abowser and Librewolf on desktop/laptop and Mull on mobile. Extensions I use are uBlock Origin; Privacy Badger and Jshelter.
With #Fedilab, you can manage pinned timelines (add, move, hide, remove).
There are default ones, limited to Home, Local, Public, Notifications and Direct Messages that can't be removed but they can be hidden or moved.

By default they will be hidden, but you will be able to manage them as you want for a quick access matching your expectations.
