This week's donation went to the QMK Configurator project. The configurator works with keyboards that use the FOSS QMK firmware. It provides a way to create simple keymaps and saving via .json keymap files, and generates appropriate firmware files for flashing onto selected keyboards.QMK firmware for a variety of keyboards including the System76 Launch keyboards; ZSA keyboards; and the MNT Reform Keyboard. The code is mostly licensed using GPLv2.0 but some parts also use the MIT license; the Modified BSD license; and the Apache license.
The project's main website is here:
The source code is located on Github:

If you wish to help the project financially you can do so through their Open Collective:
What does it mean to say a license is "compatible with the GPL?" It means [...] you can combine code released under the other license with code released under the GNU GPL in one larger program. Read the full answer: https://u.fsf.org/3u6

We just shipped some major refactoring in our initramfs, removing some of the oldest tech-debt in the distro and finally making it possible to boot without first finding and unpacking the "initramfs-extra" archive!
This new unified-initramfs behaviour is now the default for most devices, and may lead to a slight boottime speedup!

I have been gaming since 1992 and building PCs since 2003. I enjoy Linux, supporting FOSS projects and am a tinfoil hat connoisseur.
Many FOSS projects rely on donations. If you have money to spare but don't know which to donate to take a look at the above links on Ko-fi, Github, and Open Collective. Anything on there that I have sponsered or contributed to is something I have found to be worthy.
