Steam adds the harsh truth that you’re buying “a license,” not the game itself: https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2024/10/steam-now-reminds-you-that-it-really-sells-a-license-for-a-digital-product/ #gaming #steam #license #buy

I'll stick with my warehouse job for $23 an hour.
Take your time, still can't get a Fairphone in Canada yet. Thank you for the effort regardless.
Possibly but all I can say is I haven't seen anyone I thought was a bot yet but on X wou;d get hit up daily in the dms by obvious bots. In any case i'll take the fediverse but would take BS over X.
We also now received OOB access, which should make it easier to restart the server if necessary without having to wait for someone on-site.
The FSF tech team operates sixty-three different services, platforms, and websites. They maintain all the computers and software FSF uses, including obscure things like accounting software, Asterisk telephony software, many websites such as fsf.org, gnu.org, and more. This small team also provides critical services to the GNU System, like email, build servers, release hosting, bug tracking, Git hosting, and servers to various free software projects. Still never going back to Google myself.
The server has been rebooted and the builders are active again.
To prevent a similar issue from happening again right away, we will enable the builders in a staggered way to prevent to many large builds happening at the same time.
ProtonVPN and Mullvad are my choices. Both have .deb options for desktop/laptop. Mullvad's even works on the Librem 5. Both are on F-Droid for Android.

After I had borked my last #postmarketOS install, I did not want to bother with setting up email accounts, and just copied my #Thunderbird profile over - how hard can it be?
I managed to come up with something I can live with, unfortunately it required customizing the icon bar by hand, so these changes are likely not directly transferable via user.js and co.
GhostBSD has released version 24.10.1. It's an OS out of Canada that is based on FreeBSD but put's it's own spin on things such as having the Mate desktop preinstalled and having a GUI installer among other things. This release offers better hardware compatibility, fixes five bugs, fixes two security issues, makes it so Chromium has the necessary options to watch Netflix, and more. The code is licensed using the BSD-3-Clause license. If you're looking to leave Windows or Mac OS for a more privacy and security friendly operating system then I can easily recommend GhostBSD.

I have been gaming since 1992 and building PCs since 2003. I enjoy Linux, supporting FOSS projects and am a tinfoil hat connoisseur.
Many FOSS projects rely on donations. If you have money to spare but don't know which to donate to take a look at the above links on Ko-fi, Github, and Open Collective. Anything on there that I have sponsered or contributed to is something I have found to be worthy.
