Curious about the Linux OS powering cutting-edge science?

🌌 CERN and Fermilab have adopted #AlmaLinux as the successor to Scientific Linux.

With RHEL compatibility, extended support, and community backing, it's perfect for labs—and your PC: neowin.net/news/scientists-at- #Linux

EDIT: this should no longer be necessary, please ensure your pmbootstrap is up to date (latest git master) and if you did run the below command reset it with pmbootstrap config -r mirrors.systemd (after updating)

if you're trying to use pmbootstrap and run into an issue because the systemd staging repo can't be found, doing the following will prevent it from attempting to fetch the (now missing) repo

$ pmbootstrap config mirrors.systemd none

FOSS mobile OS FuriOS has been updated to version 13.06. It includes battery management improvements, modem improvements, kernel upgrades, and more. I was able to upgrade my FLX1 from 13.0 to 13.06 simply with a couple rounds of "sudo apt update" and then "sudo apt upgrade". I had no issues with my upgrade.

Two notable improvements:
- You now can pick the @beacondb URL automatically when choosing a submission URL
- There is an option (opt-in) that shows you the locations of queued submissions overlayed on the map. When you click on it, it will tell you how many cell towers and WiFi APs were found there, as well as the time the submission was made.
