I see a fair bit of users on the Steam forums saying variations of "i'm surprised you have a Mac version and not a Linux version" and I for one am never shocked. Mac OS has a higher market share on Steam, well over double that of Linux, so there are more customers to sell to. They also don't have Proton. So if you're a developer/publisher you have not only more potential customers but also you know they need a native Mac version if they want to buy your game on Steam. I have never, not once, seen a Mac user on a forum say "just use Wine, it works on that" but see Linux users say that (sub Wine with Proton) all the time. That stance bleeds through to developers and publishers. More and more they're saying they don't have plans for a Linux version and they hear Proton works just fine. Linux users are their own worst enemy sometimes.
