So I recently picked up a FuriLabs FLX1. I will be posting more about this in the coming days and weeks but wanted to give a heads up to Canadian users on some things to expect. The import fee on my FLX1 was about $106 CAD once it hit our border. It shipped with UPS for me. Also it does not work on Koodo and probably won't on Telus either. It does work on Rogers though. My overall impressions is it is possibly the best Linux phone I have used as it does the best job of allowing you to use Linux programs as well as trying to be compatible with Android apps as well. It also has good hardware and is more responsive than other Linux phones I have used.
Does Furilabs or any of it's contributors accept donations yet ? I know Fakeshell does through Github and Patreon. I like to try to help out projects I use.
OpenOffice has multiple unfixed security issues, over a year old, as this image from the Board report says. And no new committers since 2022, and no major release since 2014. Maybe the FOSS community can ask the Apache Software Foundation to finally put it in the Attic, and stop leaving users vulnerable: https://www.apache.org/foundation/contact
I have been gaming since 1992 and building PCs since 2003. I enjoy Linux, supporting FOSS projects and am a tinfoil hat connoisseur.
Many FOSS projects rely on donations. If you have money to spare but don't know which to donate to take a look at the above links on Ko-fi, Github, and Open Collective. Anything on there that I have sponsered or contributed to is something I have found to be worthy.
