Portland is so fucked right now. The government is "disappearing" people. I don't ever want to hear the right-wing utter the word "freedom" again unless they're against this: https://edition.cnn.com/2020/07/18/opinions/portland-anonymous-security-forces-mark-of-dictatorship-ghitis/index.html

@alex Is there a different way we want the feds to arrest the members of a terrorist organization? 🤔

@realcaseyrollins I mentioned this in the comments already, but I'm not opposed to people being arrested for breaking a law. I'm opposed to the government breaking the law. This should concern any free-thinking individual, if we don't play into tribe dynamics.

@alex I'm just not sure what law is broken here...a lot of these people are being detained after they've committed violence. Is the car supposed to look different? IDK would that make it more palatable for you and others concerned by this?

@realcaseyrollins Yes... like do you value transparency in government? Do you think the government should be honest? Then they should absolutely identify themselves instead of going around vanning people in unmarked cars.
@alex @realcaseyrollins I think the antifa are trying to set off a 1917 revolution and I favor limitless tactics to stop them because if antifa win they will be coming to my house to murder me.
@judgedread @alex @realcaseyrollins At this point, the antifa are an extension of the state and system itself, so there is no scenario under present conditions where the government does anything to stop them.

@judgedread @ThreeOneThreeChris @alex Well I say they're on the side of the state government, not the federal government.

@realcaseyrollins @judgedread @alex DHS doesn’t have the budget or the personnel to deal with antifa in 50 states, with zero cooperation from the FBI and state & local agencies. These occasional unmarked car snatch-ups are an exercise in futility.

@ThreeOneThreeChris @judgedread @alex I'm guessing they wanna spook em into falling back and standing down by making examples of them. Otherwise they'd be doing it in more places than Portland right?

Problem is these people have a martyr complex. The worse you treat them, the better they feel about it. 🤦🏾‍♂️ This is going to b a tough thing to fight.

@realcaseyrollins @judgedread @alex When they make an example in Portland, another city in another region of the country becomes the new flashpoint, enflamed by the response to the previous one. The situation is a giant grease fire at this point.
@ThreeOneThreeChris @realcaseyrollins It has been a grease fire for some time.

At least Trump is doing something. Also antifa are extreme cowards. It might not take much to break them. Just the local cops busting a few caused a rapid decline in their terror actions. They were crying sweet tears about it as well. 'NO ONE IS GOING TO SHOW UP FOR THE PROTEST IF THEY CAN GO AWAY FOR TEN YEARS!!!'
@ThreeOneThreeChris @realcaseyrollins @alex @judgedread No police force in the West can.

Deterrence is a big part of maintaining the social order.

The way they’re doing though: no TV crews, no newspaper or MSM announcements seem fishy to me.
