When it comes to speaking publicly about non-heterosexuality, everyone should be allowed to do it. With the power to restrict speech in that sector in the wrong hands, we could become Canada, where you can't speak out against gay marriage or homosexuality publicly. 😬

But one thing I * do * think needs to change is sex ed in public schools. Way too much is being taught rn, in a way that encourages certain sexual behaviors over others. That should be up to both the students and parents to work out. If that means completely removing sex ed from schools, I'd be down with that. I mean, the internet is a thing. It's not like public school is the only place you can learn about sex (although it's certainly good for practice 😏).

@aefirestone It's fun! I doesn't feel quite like #Gab as far as user base (it's actually kinda empty tbh), but the software runs well, and I think it probably federates with more instances than #Gab! Some #fediverse instances and technologies block #gameliberty but that's predictable with a free speech instance.

So, over roughly the past 10 months or so, I went through a lot. I got wrapped up in a toxic relationship with a girl who was leading me on and my granddad died suddenly, and even worse, I began taking vague advice from people I didn't know very well, who at the time weren't all that mature (although they're showing a lot of growth now), which only made my situation worse.

Through all of this, I've been met with nothing but encouragement and support on the #fediverse. This means a lot to me, especially the support I've gotten (and continue to get) from the real OGs here, who were with me before all the stuff went down.

Thankfully, things are going a lot better right now, although I still have some personal growth to work on. I must say, I don't think I'd be where I am today (mentally) without the support of you guys.

@CSB IMHO gloves would be more useful than hand sanitizer. If you already have wipes you can rub your hands down with them, or if you wish go to the restroom and wash them there, but between wearing gloves (so you're not touching germ-infested surfaces) and a facemask (so you're not sucking in loads of #Coronavirus particles) I should think you'd be fine.

@Coomer I only compared the two because #Gab had so many users compared to the #fediverse at large (they had at least a million users at the time IIRC), so it has sort of a similar case of a (relatively) big social networking site just popping into the #Fediverse and flooding it with new users. The scale is certainly different but some reactions to it should provide at least some precident.
