My mom was a big fan of yellow roses. My dad made sure we always had at least two or three yellow rose bushes at the house I grew up in.
My wife and her mom got this as a way to honor my mom's memory even though they never met her. I had to snap this photo before I left home this morning because they're so beautiful. I hope my mom is smiling down from heaven. I married a great woman (finally).

I just spent the bulk of a vacation day that I booked specifically for this purpose interacting with a huge government agency.

The individuals were all lovely and helpful and personable, and I've made substantial progress towards the goal I had at the outset of this effort. Objectively positive.

But every time I have to deal with huge opaque bureaucracies I just want to cry for hours and then not see anyone for about 4-5 days. And of course I can't do either of those right now.

I am not trying to break anything.

i never understood the spam problem. ever since i started obfuscating my email address (check bio for example), i haven't been getting any spam (besides gab news (i'm too lazy to unsubscribe))

also, it's not like anyone uses the services i host besides myself and a few good friends.

my policy on blocks is one of the reasons why i have invite-based registration: i don't want a bunch of retards like old jojo to hop into my instance and start spamming the shit out of it. you can always ask for an invite if i know you well enough though.

Let me just make one thing clear: I am against blocking in any form and I consider #FediBlock a piece of utter shit.

Blocking is the cancer of the internet. If you have to block someone, that means that you are too fucking weak for the internet, - hell, for the real world itself - go meditate and live in a wonderland with your imaginary friends or something. You are not going to learn something new if you just stay in your own little personal safe space and hear the same opinions from the same people with the same world views all over again. You are fucking degrading by blocking everyone else. Bad [not yours] ideas are fought with good [yours] ideas, not with blocking. Want to get all your information from only one 'approved' source? You are a fucking degenerate. Period.

In my six months on fedi and in my past 3 years on the internet overall, I've been yet to block a single person or an instance. Yes, even gab spambots. And yes, you can consider this a challenge.

just leave them alone it is not a character flaw to not have sex you don’t need to have sex to mature or to come of age or whatever it’s even worse when they’re a religious character and are celibate because of their beliefs and then those beliefs are treated as something to be overcome in order for them to grow just stop it (x)
