@moonman @mewmew @l0wk3y @lauraloomer @m @nerdman I know she was a right-wing darling at one point, she was on the panel held about , and that's actually how I found out about . I probably wouldn't been on the if it wasn't for her.

Hmm...I am 100% sure that this is accidental, but these visuals from a 2018 live set from kinda look like a burning cross, don't they?

@moonman @mewmew @realDonaldTrump @l0wk3y @nerdman Haha yeah i remember this. I wonder if they email and write him letters periodically asking him to join.

It's not as far fetched as it would seem, actually. They got @m, @lauraloomer, @AnnCoulter (but I think she's since left), to name a few.

@cubicgarden "No justice, no peace" is a phrase bourne of stupidity that relies heavily upon your own.

Wow, I did not know this! I like it very much, makes things very easy!

Friendly reminder: don't be tribalist yourself. Just because these people defend the officers in this case, that doesn't make them racist. Just misguided.

@freemo @mutualitywsdes@qoto.org hmm...well I wonder if could accelerate and join the in order to try to evade the censorship rules.

@realcaseyrollins

Sure. I think thats more a sign that im not radicalized to either side than a sign that they are good presidents though.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

@mutualitywsdes

@realcaseyrollins In a sense I agree. I see facebook and twitter as public utilities partyly because they dont federate and have such a massive userbase.

Folks on the right who are going to such extremes to support the officers who used unwarranted force against are proof that tribalism is alive and well in the party.

@freemo @mutualitywsdes@qoto.org But isn't it nice when everyone can come together and agree that they did at least one or two good things right?

@freemo It will be interesting to see how this influences the . I actually hope it doesn't; I think there is a big difference between decentralized instances censoring vs. and censoring.

@mutualitywsdes@qoto.org @freemo It's the sign of a good president, when even those from across the aisle support some of his actions.

Obama had a few moments like this during his presidency too.

I'm not a Trump fan by any means. But when it comes to combating reckless censorship and fighting for free speech, especially in social media, I approve of what he is doing.

all too often social media sites exercise political favoritism by censoring outspoken members of one side or the other. In my mind social media should be seen as a public utility and as such its users should have protections to freedom of speech that you arent usually guaranteed in a private space.

This also may mean that a lot of fediverse instances that have servers in America might need to start second guessing their draconian censorship policies, and that would be a happy change.
