I'm a bit high, and have been drinking for about an hour or so at this point. I would like to wax poetic about my cat. Because I love her.

My cat is a fantastic cat. She is just the best. I come home after a shit day and there she is to greet me at the door.

She does this every day, but after a day like today? An infuriating, frustrating, fucking annoying as fuck day- today, it was just what I needed.

I pick her up, and she purrs. It's so loud. She's just so happy to see me. Every time it happens it's the best feeling. This emotion and knowledge of knowing that this thing loves me.

This semi-sentient animal is sentient enough to actually fucking love me. IT blows me away- I'm someone who's got a fuckton of issues with Bipolar being probably the largest and best known to my fedi-friends.

But there are a lot of others. Intimacy issues, anxiety, self-esteem issues- the list can go on for a while. I'm a fucking wreck of a human being in a lot of ways.

Birdy doesn't give a single fuck about any of that. Not one.

I rescued her, and she spent at least 6 months on the street as a feral cat. She's still got her own issues related to that. She's a bit bitey sometimes, she's very destructive at times- she's got her own issues. She's a little broken, just like me.

And we love each other. She's right here beside me after what is objectively a pretty shitty day and purring. Just because I'm here with her.

I've never felt this kind of love before- only the last year and a half of my life, basically.

Sometimes she's stupid. Sometimes she's smart. Sometimes she's fucking infuriating- but she's MY stupid-smart-infuriating cat, and I love her so much that some days my HIGHEST desire is just to get home so that I can meet her at the door, pick her up, and hug her.

She'll purr, and I'll just whisper into her ear about how much I love her and miss her and that moment for me is fucking everything I need.

Definitely has some nice features :
