When BLM says "defund the police" or "abolish the police," do they mean tear down the existing police structure and re-create a new police structure? Because I'm not opposed to that re-creating-police-departments-from-scratch thing. I don't support no police, and I don't support not paying police, but if "defunding" and "abolishing" means making a new police system that is funded, I could get behind that. Can anyone explain?

I have almost 7 Thousand posts here, and don't take it lightly, they are meaningful to me and to others.
I am fully engaged in activism and education, and have left communities in the past where I was Staff, and had over 5,000 posts. Never returned, although my profile and posts are still there.
Here, I wouldn't want to lose my posts, but would reduce my presence substantially.

@JTR21 Personally (this comes from someone who isn't a gun guy), I'd get the smallest handgun possible for mobile use (carry or concealed carry), a medium-to-long-range weapon to keep in a car in case of emergencies, and for the house a long-range weapon and a shotgun for close combat.
I mean I have other plans like body armor and such but that's a long way down the road, I'm not quite there yet
