@djsumdog @mewmew @liaizon Not really specific laws but more like preventing possible harm from cyberbullying. Someone has committed suicide and mstdn.jp is asked to take part of the legal responsibility. It might be a long process and the instance might be regulated much more stricter if that's the case. So the managers of mstdn.jp decided to shut it down cuz they just can't handle it anymore.
It was just announced that https://mstdn.jp (200,348 accounts) and https://mastodon.cloud (59162 accounts) are shutting down at the end of June! that is more then 6% of fediverse accounts disappearing overnight.
I would like to do anything in my power to figure out how to prevent this from happening.
