Voat actually used to be pretty decent, albeit with a very definite hard right leaning attitude. I went there when Reddit started to become the Democratic People's Republic of Reddit.
There was supposedly a DDOS attack over a post that cause puttitout (the owner/admin) to lock everything behind a login wall, and it started to go toxic hard right.
After a while I noticed even the normal stuff that showed up there was gone, and no one needs that much hate without any reason to explain it.

Examples:
1. Rioting after the killing of #GeorgeFloyd (who told them to do that?)
2. Coronavirus lockdowns (many, including Fauci, are now saying the lockdowns might not have helped, and it's time to open things up)
3. The media getting everyone to get mad at the Covington kids without even telling them what happened
Just a few examples I can think of off the top of my head. I just sit around watching the strings getting pulled and am waiting for people to break free.
If everyone turned off the #MSM society would be ten times better and I daresay violence would be down.
