@sim @Lainyboy@neckbeard.xyz @_p@shitposter.club Yeah; it's like, white people have an excuse for feeling how they feel. Even if they're "wrong" on SJW crap (are not woke), people will be like "oh, it's his culture, he's insensitive, etc." But with me people, esp. other black people, would probably just be like "what's wrong with you, is your brain broken?"

Of course someone would say that to a white person, but it wouldn't be genuine, just a tactic used to change their mind. Internally they would say "it's just how he was raised" or blame it on culture or history or whatever.

@realcaseyrollins @Lainyboy @_p Haha. I mean, they can be disappointed in white people for not agreeing with them too. They can try to see them in a similar way that they do with other black people. But I think white people are already not in that category and there isn't much they can do about it. Except be disappointed but they'll move on quicker when it doesn't work. Different standards. The same will likely happen with you.

I’ve changed my handheld device from a smartphone to an iPod Touch which doesn’t have GPS and cellular modules. :duckduckgo:

@milo @sim @_p@shitposter.club I try to be a free thinker and not be tribalist but then that gets tricky when interacting with others because most people in society reside in ideological tribes.

@realcaseyrollins @sim @_p

I wouldn't even say that's white privilege, that's a damn echo chamber brought on by the stupidity of the masses.

It's the same shit they do on reddit, either you're woke or your the enemy.
@realcaseyrollins @sim @_p Yeah, generally it's not an intentional thing. Though on the other hand the use of long ethnic origin names (african-american, mexcian-american, etc.) is done either as soft-language because black or mexican on their own seem 'xenophobic' or a need to continue dividing along racial lines.

Hence the anger towards say... "Hey man, we're all americans."

@Lainyboy@neckbeard.xyz @_p@shitposter.club Yo @sim that's deep but you're 1000% right

@realcaseyrollins @_p Haha. Is this the white privilege that black people allow white people to have?

@sim @_p@shitposter.club Yeah...it is frustrating because white people are (kind of) allowed to have different opinions on these topics, but black people aren't.

White privilege, I guess.

@realcaseyrollins @_p If he didn't take that expectation for granted then he shouldn't be disappointed in you having a different opinion. He would realise there is a diverse amount of opinions out there as well.

So you are worried about what your own black friends would think if they knew you held your opinion but they held one as he does? That would make sense. Especially considering it sounds a lot more conformist there.

@milo @sim @_p@shitposter.club Yeah, that's my general feeling. But I recognize that (depending on the person) it's not intentional

@_p @realcaseyrollins @sim Around here, most have preferred 'black' and find 'african-american' to be patronizing.
