@wjmaggos @realcaseyrollins discussing the fediverse without it being about abuse? Unheard of.

On Sunday, I discussed the #fediverse, rap, popular culture, the Christian lifestyle and much more with @realcaseyrollins. Live again this week at 9pm CST.

The problem is that "2+2=4" is a useful generality, and "2+2=5" is neither. Insisting that one is as :valid: as the other is ridiculous. "The map is not the territory" is useful to keep in mind, the same as "Keep in mind that numbers have to mean something and treating math as abstract symbol manipulation is misguided", but "2+2=4 is imperialism! WHAT IF YOU HAVE FOUR CHICKENS" is pure horseshit.

This is the original statement:

"Mathematical statements like 2+2=4 when applied to the real world are always intermediated by definitional ambiguity, measurement uncertainty, ambient stochasticity, exchangeability assumptions and the limits of causal intervention such that it may sometimes occur that 2+2 =5"

What's wrong with it, it's an analogy, it's not meant to be literal?

Anyway, that's my lecture on why cops shouldn't be allowed to vote and yes I'm 100% serious
