@freemo Which is why no open forum should be banned.

At the same time, Twitter actively censors one type of hate speech, but allows another. It's interesting because this means Twitter actively supports, and therefore publishes hate speech.
@freemo ... or Fediverse. Considering all of the "kill white people" posts that can be readily found on Twitter, maybe it's time to start reporting that app as well.

@freemo @izarella I've decided to follow you both. Whether I agree with them or not, I love diverse opinions. Some of my opinions have also been censored a lot, though I usually do not post them on Mastodon or Twitter.

@freemo @izarella :blobcat3c: I kinda like that getting blocked by idiots already works as some kind of seal of quality

@freemo to be fair, I suspect this could be a time of reckoning for the fediverse. The willingness of people to draw instant parallels between software ("FOR ANY PURPOSE") and the beliefs and moral values of the users.

In the past, large swathes of the fediverse have written off pleroma and pleroma users as undesirable, regardless of whether that was true or not, because of a small element who were.

Google has now decided that fediverse apps, it seems, are likewise undesirable because of a small number of non-representative users. First we have sown, now we reap.

@freemo this happened to Clover, an imageboard client, because it supported access to 4chan - a site that Google considered unpalatable.

At the time, it was mostly cheered by a lot of the same people as use mastodon. It's unfortunate the precedent has come full circle.

@freemo @khird A lot of hate and aggression is on random websites... So is this the time to ban all browsers? Or shut down the internet as a whole, problems would dissappear. Or create something like Great Chinese Firewall... is this direction world want to choose?

Opinion about Tusky and others blocking certain domains

People generally compare Mastodon and other such software with emails. With that analogy clients like Tusky/Fedilab are similar to email clients that lets you connect to certain domains(IMAP and SMTP server in emails).

I have never seen any email client that doesn't let you connect to certain domains, just because those domains endorse "extremist" views.

#tusky #fedilab #husky

I started using #Husky and suddenly my notifications started loading correctly on my phone #huskystories

(also, I've had this avatar for years, it's totally not related to using Husky)

@mk People are on the Fedi as an alternative to censorious silicone valley networks.
So why did you put you app on a censorious silicone valley network?

Use another repo, and stop whinging, silly Marxist, we all know you don't really care.

Just a reminder to all the fedi bros that Google took Spinster’s app down a year ago, citing the exact same bullshit reason that they are now using to target Subway Tooter, Husky, and Fedliab. And none of you had shit to say about it then.

You watched. You let it happen. Many of your cheered. Many of you actively campaigned for exactly this.

We remember how you sided with Big Tech when it suited your need to shut women up. We know all your talk of “freedom” only extends as far as you can swing your dick.

I do not support Google targeting Fediverse apps. But I also know that the Fediverse paved the way for this to happen the moment they sided with Big Tech over one of their own.

Michelle Obama hails ‘swift & powerful’ protests, decries racism but stays silent on riots in comment on Kenosha shootings

Former First Lady Michelle Obama has said she was "devastated" over this week's shootings in Kenosha, Wisconsin, asking for “bullhorns” and votes to spur change while staying mum on violence that has engulfed the city. Read Full Article at RT...
