Phew, I'm getting a first taste of how it is being involved in a hellthread. 😅

While fun, it's quite demanding.
Observations from my first week participating on the Fediverse.

1. Fediversians seem to intrinsically dislike longer posts. The shorter, the better.

2. Hashtags seem to be frowned upon and also have no real use anyways, as limiting tag searches to an instance is not possible.

3. Reactions are utterly pointless, since the recipient doesn't receive a notification.

4. There's no perfect Android client, all seem to be suboptimal in their own way. Fedilab doesn't support Pleroma fully, Husky doesn't show all relevant data in timelines (number of responses to a post, etc.).

5. People are weird. Looking up the first few words on a certain profile, demiguy and gynephile, made my head spin.

El Psy Kongroo.

My second week on the Fediverse

I think I got the hang of participating in the Fediverse now.

But it seems impossible to manage the chaos fully. I like every single person I followed, but the amount of statuses per day some make is overwhelming (70-100+).

Conversely, my own statuses are probably a drop in the bucket in my followers feeds, which could be partially remedied by choosing a highlight for my account (for which people would have to deliberately think and do it) and/or subscribing to me ("ringing the bell").

Speaking of subscriptions: Replies don't count, despite being as equally important to me with certain people, and might not even work at all for profiles on Mastodon. I could solve that to some degree with custom lists, but then Pleroma doesn't seem to have that feature.

El Psy Kongroo.

@chris My post was in the #1 Spot on hackerNews and it took off from there, pretty much all the tech news agencies have put up a story at this point, most linking back directly to my post on qoto.

So if nothing else #QOTO is definitely going to skyrocket in the google search results..

But yea its getting crazy.

@PeteyMiami Were they looting and committing Arson legally.
Plus the FILTH KYLE CAPPED lived further from Kenosha than he did.!

I've been #running for 1 year. 1,147 miles run. Looking at the numbers for the first time... I averaged over 3.14 miles every single day!? Wow.

I ran 13.5 this morning, thinking this would be my last run of my first year, but according to my logs, it's actually the first run of year 2.

Here's to a better year, with more miles. And hopefully the 2021 marathon won't be canceled, and I'll run my first.

Someone out there that I follow used to post end-of-run selfies on the fediverse, and that was part of my motivation. Thanks.... Whoever you are.

In response to the killing of the Trump supporter in downtown Portland, antifa accounts are soliciting for donations to buy more riot gear. They just received a shipment of bulletproof vests & want more.

They crowdfund on @CashApp & @venmo.

The consumers of Fake News believe Rittenhouse "murdered" people and we know that for sure even though the video indicates self-defense. That's how powerful fake news is. Makes you not believe your own eyes.

Richard Diamond: Who come @SenRonJohnson won’t clearly condemn the 17 year old white nationalist murderer on #CNNSOTU ? Seriously Senator , shame on you!!!!!

This is insane. Will Twitter suspend all of the leftists cheering on the murder of the Trump supporter last night? Rhetorical question of course. We all know the answer.

@search_social @Jimmietherustle @Baron_Rotterdam @ChristiJunior @PorkCow @Ricotta @issdeinschnitzel @leyonhjelm @realcaseyrollins Actually, the term "person of color" is way, way, way, more racist than calling someone "black". Reason is that a term like "person of color" deprives that person of any individuality since those of african heritage are now lumped with those of east asian heritage or those of west asian heritage. It's having different colors of play-doh and saying "oh...saying this play-doh is such color is offensive, so will mix them all in a big ball of browinsh blob, so now no play-doh can be offended for being refereed by its color". So saying "people of color" is incredibly dehumanizing in onto itself.
