life sentence for a first time drug offence?

President Donald Trump granted a full pardon on Friday to Alice Marie Johnson, a Tennessee woman who received a life sentence for a first-time drug offense and whose

@essie @Grandtheftautism @georgia @mewmew delusion if you actually view the footage and read events around it, kyle was naive, not looking to hurt people

@a7 @georgia @essie @mewmew the whole thing started because rioters set a dumpster on fire and were pushing it tiwards a gas station. Rittenhouse ran up with a fire extinguisher and gave it to another guy, who put out the fire. Then the crowd, led by Rosenbaum, attacked both of them.

3 people died trying to defend their literal dumpster fire. The footage is out there if you look.

@realcaseyrollins

It would seem almost all of that comes from statements from the cops, the one piece that sounds like it may have evidence to support the story is the idea that the knife can be seen in his left hand on the video. I'd like to see a screen shot of that.

Presuming the video shows the knife as claimed then I would concede the cops did make significant effort to deescalate it without out violence.

With that said I would maintain that shooting him 7 times in the back was still uncalled for (though less damning giving the circumstances). The proper response in the final moments would have been 1) back away so the knife was not a threat 2) if he tries to start the car shoot once, if he lunges at them, empty a clip if needed. Regardless though I'd say that largerly the cops are in the clear and at worst slightly overreacted.

@NRO

Phew, I'm getting a first taste of how it is being involved in a hellthread. 😅

While fun, it's quite demanding.
Observations from my first week participating on the Fediverse.

1. Fediversians seem to intrinsically dislike longer posts. The shorter, the better.

2. Hashtags seem to be frowned upon and also have no real use anyways, as limiting tag searches to an instance is not possible.

3. Reactions are utterly pointless, since the recipient doesn't receive a notification.

4. There's no perfect Android client, all seem to be suboptimal in their own way. Fedilab doesn't support Pleroma fully, Husky doesn't show all relevant data in timelines (number of responses to a post, etc.).

5. People are weird. Looking up the first few words on a certain profile, demiguy and gynephile, made my head spin.

My second week on the Fediverse

I think I got the hang of participating in the Fediverse now.

But it seems impossible to manage the chaos fully. I like every single person I followed, but the amount of statuses per day some make is overwhelming (70-100+).

Conversely, my own statuses are probably a drop in the bucket in my followers feeds, which could be partially remedied by choosing a highlight for my account (for which people would have to deliberately think and do it) and/or subscribing to me ("ringing the bell").

Speaking of subscriptions: Replies don't count, despite being as equally important to me with certain people, and might not even work at all for profiles on Mastodon. I could solve that to some degree with custom lists, but then Pleroma doesn't seem to have that feature.

@chris My post was in the #1 Spot on hackerNews and it took off from there, pretty much all the tech news agencies have put up a story at this point, most linking back directly to my post on qoto.

So if nothing else #QOTO is definitely going to skyrocket in the google search results..

But yea its getting crazy.

@PeteyMiami Were they looting and committing Arson legally.
Plus the FILTH KYLE CAPPED lived further from Kenosha than he did.!
