The other apps you are mentioning have some form of child/parent control. I don't know if Tik Tok has any.
The Fediverse is already here and most importantly it works, but no one is telling them about it. Some serious awareness needs to be spread.

@judgedread @Orakel @Simpadoo @neomuttt3 I think the "boomers" are a lost cause but the younger right-wingers might be open to the Fediverse. We really need to get people like Styxhexenhammer on. Just don't show them any Mastodon instances otherwise the will get the wrong idea.

@judgedread I would, but I don't use Twitter, YouTube comments, etc and he apparently doesn't have a publicly available email address or contact form anywhere. He is on Gab, so he is technically already on the Fediverse, but it seems like most Gab users aren't aware that they are Federated and it would be nice if he would stop promoting honeypots like Gab and Parler.

Zoomers are the most important demographic right now. They are young enough to care about learning the ways of the Fediverse. Boomers are a lost cause. The "platform" mentality is just too deeply ingrained.
But if we plant the seed from early on, we can eradicate Twitter's de facto platform status. I truely believe this is possible, but work must be done. This should be a top priority for anyone who cares about the future of their children IMHO.
@neomuttt3 @Orakel @Simpadoo @judgedread This. We can save Gen Z (and subsequent generations) and potentially knock one of the major tech giants without replacing it with a centralized entity. We just need to get the right people to jump ship or at least branch out.
