>Adobe removed the chat support option

Fucking christ. It already took them a fucking hour before to remove licenses, because adobe doesn't let you do that by yourself, but now I'll be stuck speaking on the phone to a fucker who probably don't even speak either languages giving whole ass e-mail addresses?

Fuck you Adobe

Also their shitty ass support site tells me to contact support just gives me a link loop that leads to nowhere to do this. So they really fucking killed chat support despite their website saying otherwise

@coolboymew What Adobe product are you using? There is almost no reason to use any of them these days.

@xianc78 @pernia Name me a professional alternative to Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effect and the two animation flash replacement that isn't Gimp, gimp is shit

Either way it's not for me, it's company stuff

I finally found their chat, I have to go to account.adobe.com and the link in the bottom bar, which makes no sense and is completely hidden
@coolboymew @xianc78 @pernia one wonders if their new SaaS approach will lead to increased innovation in free software
@pernia @fluffy @xianc78 Oh. But ain't they already been doing this for a while? Personally, it's cancer. Their fallout with a certain company meaning you cannot use certain versions anymore wouldn't have been a problem in any other ways

Competitors needs to rise badly
@coolboymew @fluffy @xianc78 lack of competition is the biggest most obvious problem with tech and it has been for a while. until a big government decides to fuck big tech over with antitrust laws nothing will happen though

@pernia @coolboymew @fluffy These companies literally work with big governments in their mass surveillance and censorship programs. They will never fuck them over unless one of these governments goes through a reformation.

@xianc78 @coolboymew @fluffy very true. they do it largely in secret though (kind of hard after the snowden leaks), so the section of government that does the surveillance couldn't cause too much of a fuss if pro-competition laws are passed. atleast for non-US countries

@pernia @coolboymew @fluffy As an ancap, I think there are too many anti-competition laws like copyright and patents which have no place in a true capitalist society. Microsoft is notorious for using patents (which requires a state) to stunt competition. I don't know that much about Adobe, but I remember hearing that the Flash format was patented for a while.

@xianc78 @coolboymew @fluffy i absolutely agree. software patents are detrimental to the development of better software, which goes against the whole reason why patents exist.
