And if the Martian colony refuses, there will be a war and the government will have more resources to win and *bang*, the Elon Musk statue in Elon Square gets toppled like Saddam's was in Iraq.

@judgedread I think I saw something similar in The Matrix. It backfired; but anyway, the colony would have to dispose all their trash to space in order to generate enough crap to protect the atmosphere. This sounds less feasible than a Death Star.
