The reality is that a lot of company since the PS1 eventually got stockholm syndrome and would stick with Sony even through the stupid shit around the PS3 and above. Hell, I think one of the reason we didn't get the Megaman Legends collection on PSP on the west was that SoA had some draconian new content rule for ports. BTW, even for Vita, the company had some stupid shit where you couldn't put updates on carts without having to recertify. That means that all of your limited run games and co games are not updated and Sony, when they nearly closed the PS3, PSP and Vita store (I believe Vita was with it too?) recently, they apparently removed some games updates. Oops. Also, IIRC, Sony allows 0 sales on the Vita digital store right now
(Also, obviously, we're all aware of the censorship shit going on)
That's the shit devs have to deal with, yet they stick with Sony through stockholm syndrome, they would make their main engine for sony platform and etc
Now the tables are turning and I'm hoping that they'll instead make stuff primary for Nintendo, their engine and etc so that the other consoles will be the second thought instead and that devs won't have to deal with any of Sony's BS
@coolboymew @ChristiJunior@neckbeard.xyz I just miss having different consoles with vastly different libraries. Everything feels the same now except for Nintendo.
And there is a lot of stuff that I don't like about Nintendo even if they are the least bad manufacturer. I wish Japan would embrace PC gaming more but that doesn't look like it's happening anytime soon.
Also the general homogenization was inevitable due to rising development cost and the fact that they're still attempting to make fucking AAA games (Microsoft wants AAAA games, *gulp*...). Even Sony is starting to put their shit on PC

With Valve trying to push the Steamdeck, they’ve apparently been in talks with various AAAs to get their anti-cheats playing nice with Proton.

Here’s hoping this lights a fire under Valve to push forward. From what I understand, the Steamdeck is a loss leader like most consoles. So it sounds like they’re pushing far harder than with Steam Machines.
I’d also be curious if faking kernel access is possible.

Seems like many Japanese companies have been starting to take PC far more seriously as of late. I wonder if having a target pc build might help things along.
Kernel level anti-cheat for MMOs and multiplayer fucks it badly and a bunch of other games don't work. The biggest problem of it is you still gotta tinker with the parameters for a bunch of games and that ain't gonna fly with the normies. I've seen people say that they went digital because they couldn't be bothered changing a fucking disc, imagine their surprise when they see this
