it sucks but i think in the future we're gonna have to go to TOR and carve out some niche that doesn't revolve around child abuse.
you realize that Poa.st is just 1 server that is part of thousands of others that form the Fediverse, right?
How can they? We are a Hydra. #FediBlock from Mastodon only made us better and stronger
@ArdanianRight @Irishblackpilled @wizard_problems @verita84 The only thing that would be better is a fully P2P network like Bastyon or Twister. Then we wouldn't have the problem of taking down instances.
@wizard_problems @ArdanianRight @Irishblackpilled @verita84 Bastyon (previously known as PocketNet) is blockchain based like LBRY. The site is just a web client for the network but you can also download a client for desktop and mobile so you can still use it even if the site is down.
It does have community moderation however (this is to prevent spam and CP). Experienced users can flag content and users with a negative reputation will have their accounts shadow-banned (no content is deleted because its on a blockchain), but I haven't seen anyone use it to silence people they disagree with.
that's the thing. they will. if that network gets popular at all, they will come, and they will do this, and they will ruin it. whether its jews themselves doing it, or NPCs acting out their programming, they will do it.
@wizard_problems @ArdanianRight @Irishblackpilled @verita84 If I were to create such a network, my solution would be that you would only seed media from people that you follow so any illegal stuff won't be on your computer unless you explicitly follow them.
At the very least, make it so that you can't see that stuff if you are viewing the network from the website. I know that's the solution with Odysee and LBRY.
