Objectivism:
Let people do their fucking job.
Common leftie refutation:
But someone has to clear the toalets bruh... Not everyone can be a CEO.
How does that sentence ever make sense in that context?
@lanodan @icedquinn @LukeAlmighty Be your own boss by being a freelance janitor.
@icedquinn @LukeAlmighty @lanodan Or you can create or invest in an automatic toilet cleaning system.
@icedquinn @LukeAlmighty @lanodan Automation and things like 3D printing have the potential in turning everyone into a self-employed entrepreneur. It could lead to a return of cottage industries.
@lanodan @icedquinn @LukeAlmighty You might want to learn how the GOVERNMENT restricts said supply chains and that 3D printing is still in it's infancy yet is improving everyday.
@lanodan @icedquinn @LukeAlmighty
>Government doesn't even fucking matters for this.
Oh yes it does. There are plenty of laws restricting the mining of materials, especially coal mining.
Okay, maybe it won't make everyone self employed but it will lead to more opportunities.
@icedquinn @LukeAlmighty @lanodan Humans have been mining since the dawn of civilization. I'm pretty sure those like the Rockefeller's made that shit up just to lobby for legislation. Just like with the myth of oil being a "fossil fuel" with limited amounts.
It's a technology that's as old as CNCs.
And there is a lot of jobs where a 3D printer is just useless, including you know, mining and manufacturing the materials needed for a 3D printer to be made but also to have materials that can be printed in the first place.
Government doesn't even fucking matters for this.
And look at other fields like clothes, wood and metal working.
They used to be very artisanal, but since industrial revolution it's been more and more of a minority.
In fact even for 3D printers, if you really need them for your business you're going to either be a factory or rely on one.
Just like for printing paper, t-shirts, PCBs, …
