I'm out of the loop about this Barbie movie and I honestly don't care.
@beardalaxy Don't want to see either. I'm fine with never having to see another movie in theaters ever again. We need more B-movies and independent films to fight this Hollywood cancer.
@xianc78 hey who knows, hollywood is kind of imploding right now xD maybe a similar thing will happen as what did to the video game industry, and honestly what will likely happen again, with a decent-sized crash and something really good rising from the ashes.
@beardalaxy The video game industry crashed in 1983 because of saturation. The exact opposite is the case with the film industry right now. Almost everything is owned by Disney and the few non-Disney studios are just copying them.
@xianc78 that's a different kind of saturation, i think. there's so much of very similar stuff that i don't bother to watch movies anymore unless they actually look different and unique. i had this problem with horror movies a long time ago too.
i think the video game crash was mainly due to the price of entry in addition to zero quality control. saturation was a part of it too, but it was saturation of low quality shit that cost way too much.
whatever live action remake of a disney movie comes out 5 years from now will probably end up in a landfill in the desert xD
@xianc78 won't go see it or Oppenheimer personally. The next movie I watch in theater will likely be sonic 3 xD
