@xianc78 A lot of them are wannabe goths with the black lipstick and chokers. They're suicidal wanna-be whores, I think that's sufficient to explain it.

@xianc78 A lot of trans people didn't have a chance to learn about makeup application organically, and black lipstick is a good shortcut.
It matches with everything, doesn't require a while lot of understanding makeup/color theory, and no blending required (it's black).
It's also very intertwined with goth fashion, which has become increasingly intertwined with so-called "geek" culture since the 90's, and that's a sub-culture that a lot of trans women tend to come from.
Bit odd to me that trans women don't tend to borrow as much from aesthetic like the new romantic movement of the 80's, or the glamrock movement of the 70's, both of which it was pretty common for both men and women to wear makeup and they look far more naturally androgynous; but I'm not trans, so I can't speak to that.
