@ryan @DC5FAN @xianc78 If "unaffiliated users" means people on small personal instances, yeah, you could tell that, like grab the "all instances" CSV. The majority of insatances are in the long tail, 1-5 people and registrations are either closed or invite-only.

Looks like mastodon.social has abiut 1.9m people. Keep in mind, the statistics are all self-reported so some places make the numbers up. Like good.news claims 1.5m but only 74 active this month, and no posts or new signups in the last two weeks: http://demo.fedilist.com/instance/good.news .

@xianc78 Based on my crude math per every 2K users in the Fediverse, two are unaffiliated or their own instances. Pretty cool.
