I can't believe that these guys are still around and still insist on making prerendered isometric shooters when it is easier than ever to make a 3D game.

I also love how these guys just straight up pretend that it's still 1997 and that 3D PC gaming is either a luxury or non-existent. These guys brag about how "advanced" their engines are, even though they are just isometric engines and dead bodies not disappearing isn't something to write home about.

So this is like ... Gauntlet .. but as a Starcraft style RTS?

@djsumdog It's an isometric shooter. It's an enhanced port of an indie PC game from 2003. If you bought an HP computer from the mid 2000s, you might remember WildTangent and those trialware games that came with your computer. Alien Shooter was one of those games.

Joking aside, I've played 3D horde/twin-stick shooters with hundreds of enemies onscreen and there are some things that people just don't get about the reality of a 3D art style (perspective, objects blocking one another, 3D physics/collision, slopes, camera management). A well-made isometric game would have the luxury of clean 2D game logic and readability.
