The more I look into the SovCit movement, the more apparent it becomes that it's just some fed created psyop made to get libertarians, anarchists, secessionists, and any other critics of government overreach to commit felonies out in the open and in the dumbest of ways.

Don't like license plate laws? Just use this exemption plate that has been shown multiple times not to work. Don't like paying taxes even though your boss pays you in government-traceable bank deposits, just use this legalese that even if true, won't work because of the rigged judicial system.

It's literally just the exact opposite of QAnon. Where QAnon got people to do nothing, SovCit gets people arrested. Granted, some SovCits actually won court cases, but those were because of technicalities and those are extremely rare cases. Like I said, even if they are right about US history and law, they will never get their way due to the rigged judicial system (they never select intelligent juries), which is why I think the feds created the movement to bait political dissidents into the slammer.

I actually realized some time ago, that the same thing happens with American school shootings.

Imagine, that you have an armed population, and when you try to drain life out of the entire nation, eventually someone snaps and decides to "make the world a better place" before he leaves.

But, here is the briliance. What if you gave these desperate people a different idea of how to leave first? What if these people with nothing to lose didn't go after you, but instead went after kids in schools? Wouldn't that be "more effective to send message to the society" after all?

And all it takes to make sure people think of school instead of you is to make sure, that everyone hears about each shooting for months on end. They need to hear every bloody detail, so they associate it with desperate suicide.

And.... Congratulations. You are now completely safe.

@LukeAlmighty I think school shootings are pushed by Big Pharma to sell more happy pills.

@xianc78 @LukeAlmighty a lot of them want to mimic the cultural bad boy image Eric and Dylan both had from media reports, and that they absorbed from the cultural osmosis of the mid-90s (nbk, kmfdm and nin, trenchcoats, etc.)

Now they're ripping off aspects from the nz shooting for shock value purposes too but only because every edgy kid who passed around gore videos saw that video as Christmas.

@xianc78
If it was so, then the shooting would be more common around the world, especially in the poorer countries.

But I get the idea.

SovCits are great, I always buy them beers. Maybe I wouldn't want to do what they do myself, but it's an act of civil disobedience.

> even if true, won't work because of the rigged judicial system

You know what it does? It forces judges to say the quiet part out loud: That nobody gives a fuck about the 1st amendment, or the 2nd amendment, 4th amendment, 10th or the fact that the 16th was never ratified. That you have no rights, the constitution is just a dumb piece of paper, and the only thing that matters is who has the guns.

I hope they'll have to repeat that shit each and every day until it's so burned into their minds that when the day comes that they're standing there with a shovel in their hands, those words will come back to haunt them when the commissar shouts DIG THE FUCKING HOLE.

@cjd
>but it's an act of civil disobedience

I think there are better ways of doing that. Civil disobedience works best when you have a mass of people in a certain area disobeying. If you could get the majority of a town to drive without a license plate, for example, maybe you could change something. From what I've seen, SovCits generally do this alone and only have their interpretation of the law (whether true or not) to protect them.

Okay, but what sort of civil disobedience do you do?

I can know if you're in a position to frown on SovCits until I know what you're contributing.

@cjd Okay you do have a point, but even then pretty much even practices civil disobedience in one way or another. It's the exact reason why so many laws are unenforced. It's why most cops don't care if you drive 5mph above the speed limit or even 20mphs above the speed limit in the case of highways. It's because everyone does it and they can't ticket everyone.

But if you want a specific example, I and a bunch of others defied the "stay at home" orders during the early days of COVID. We went to parks and did whatever. We never got arrested. A bunch of others were doing it with us and it probably made the orders impossible to enforce in our area.

@cjd It was literally the only way I could keep myself sane. I had my adult family members move back in during that time do I needed to take walks in order to think straight. Didn't even wear a mask. I just walked on our local trail along with a bunch of other people who were doing the same.
