@coolboymew He's hoping that Nintendo is bringing some beta content back in it. Really the only things I see coming are the bigger maps, the persistent world (assuming the Switch 2 has enough internal storage to handle it), and the remixed dungeons from Master Quest.

@xianc78 yeah I saw that one. He seems to generally have the same opinion that I do, it needs to be some level of reimagining but without making it completel unrecognizable

Otherwise, I just watched this one and as expected it's memories about that very thing

@coolboymew I don't know how you are going to re-imagine the game without pissing people off. The 3DS version had the benefit of being based off of the original game's source code. This, on the other hand, looks like those fan-made re-imaginings done in Unreal.

@xianc78 There is no way to remake the game in super high graphics without fucking with it a medium amount already. A lot of the level design is N64 as fuck and wouldn't work otherwise. Beside, they ported it once on 3DS, re-released it a bunch of times, and it's on N64

I could see how they would have remade FF7 without fucking with it too much. This? No way
@coolboymew @xianc78 they could have remade ff7 without fucking with it too much

they could have, but they didn't :0171:
@npc @xianc78 Yeah and Square, as usual, went on the other retarded spectrum of the "reimagining"

The point is that this old JRPG could have worked nicely enough in full 3D without fucking with it too much

OOT... The maps are outdated as fuck. Just the beginning of the game, they'd have to already fuck with Kokiri Forest. And then you realize the Lost Woods is kind of... pathetic. And then Hyrule Field is small a fuck now. And then...

This is the thing, they'd have to immediately fuck with it anyways, so why not go the full length? They could add the Deku race to the Lost Woods. They could redesign everything without making it utterly unrecognizable, etc. It's of course, hoping for a lot, but this is like one of their biggest game and probably the big holiday game
@coolboymew @xianc78 yeah for nintendo to remake OOT was a losing proposition for them either way tbh. either piss off all the 40 year olds or remind everyone that the game aged really poorly
@npc @xianc78 On top of that we have the decompilation and yadda yadda

Just gimme the full semi-reimagination, I can just go play the decompile otherwise

@npc @xianc78 @coolboymew Really they should've remade FF7 in the HD-2D artstyle. That would've really captured the original vision

@VD15 @coolboymew @xianc78 i'm still kinda pissed that the pixel remasters weren't that
@npc @xianc78 @VD15 The pixel remasters is yet another instance of Square making 2D FF remakes that looks a lot like RPG Maker assets, and then fucking them up somewhat in some other ways

The remixed music is terrible and they include none of the bonus content other versions had. Why
>Remake Final Fantasy VII
>In the style of Final Fantasy VI
>Call it Final Fantasy VI-VII

@coolboymew I'd say that FF7 has it's own problem of transforming the pre-rendered backgrounds into fully 3D environments while still keeping the original vision.
