@xianc78 have you actually played this or are you just being a contrarian?

@beardalaxy I'm playing it right now. This is the PC port using the models from the 3DS game.

@xianc78 I see, I wonder if it still has the stuff like the brighter lighting and toned down bottom of the well, or if it is just a model replacement.

I'm totally fine with the 3ds remake fwiw I'm just trying to challenge you a little bit.

@beardalaxy You can add a bunch of enhancements. You can easily make it look like an early Xbox 360 game with the right mods.

@xianc78 I'm actually watching my roommate play it right now with an HD texture pack that's really accurate. I think for a first time, keeping the original graphics but just *enhanced* is the best way to experience it.

@beardalaxy I think there is no "right" way to play the game the first time, as long as you are not cheating.

Ship of Harkinian adds so many enhancements and QoL features that there is simply no going back for me. It kind of reminds me of the XBLA port of Perfect Dark. It's literally the exact same game, just enhanced. Though you can still tell that it was originally an N64 game just by how stiff the high-poly models move around in a 90s physics engine, but I feel like it gives it a little charm, almost like a budget Xbox 360 game.
