I use it mostly to take notes for the Pathfinder game I'm running. It's nice to be able to cross reference and keep details of my Player Characters' backstories easy to access.

It's a lot of overhead if all you want is notes though.

For me the graph helps a lot. If I toss in appropriate links I can check the graph for connections which makes it easier to create story tie-ins.

A couple degrees of separation on the graph and I have a plot and backstory relevant hook tailor made for a PC.

I've also made use of a few Obsidian plugins and templates for keeping track of session to session information. I'm using Tasks to effectively create a "job board" where I can remind everyone per session what sort of sidequests they have running in the background.

Most of this has everything to do with running a sandbox where I can't always have stuff at the ready to plan sessions in advance.
