@VD15 I considered touching btrfs after a reinstall for my fileserver with 3 disks in soft-raid 5. Turns out btrfs has an issue with parity, so it was back to zfs.
I was tired/drunk AF when I planned and did the reinstall from Deb10 to Arch. Turns out I could just `zpool import -f data` the already existing zpools. Saves me days and days of restores from remote backups.
@djsumdog for me Star Trek stopped after the last movie with the Enterprise crew. New star Trek isn't something I could stomach.

@SuperDicq Yes, it has finally gotten clear for everyone that the post-war neo-liberal rules-based-order consensus only works if there is a block that can enforce this. Soft whispering diplomacy works when you wield a big gun, Europe does not have that big gun.
I agree that Europe should be self-sufficient and I have been advocating for that for a long time now, same that we cannot trust our data with US companies thanks for amongst others the patriot act. It is a shame this ball started rolling only last year, and only because the "wrong" guy came into office. This has been an issue since 2002 onwards. I really cannot take these guys that need it suddenly now serious.
@SuperDicq I don't like communism, so china and its cronies can get fucked for I care.
While the US currently isn't the ideal partner, it can only grow better from here on out really. Besides, some time soon a new president will be chosen and it will be business as usual.
It doesn't really help that European leadership are short sighted, and/or greedy, and/or corrupt politicians wearing the skinsuit of a leader. Pair the political class and media class that is hyper sensitive, panicky, engagement driven and you have some of the ingredients of the shit show we are in now.
