And the Disney series was so bad that RedLetterMedia had to say, "wait, wait, this isn't my fault. I know I set the prequels on fire and made a whole movie about how Lucas is an asshole and specifically recommended JJ Abrams do what he did with Star Trek and make a soft reboot and everything went exactly as I wanted. I know couldn't bring myself to criticize the result with the same fervor because the COMPLETE TRASH WRITING had better direction and I have a film background not a writing background so all I can criticize is petty technical shit like [George Lucas consciously going for an older style of film that I didn't even recognize]. But even though this is the literally the future I fought for and asked for... I disavow."
