I am so tired of the "engineering sandbox" type of game.
Well, I love to engineer stuff, but why do these games ALWAYS have a complete lack of content? As far as I can tell, the 2 games with best contest so far was Trailmakers with "actually decent collect scrap campaign" and space engineers with "mine till you can get to space".
That is pathetic.
@NEETzsche
Any kind of a hard goal, since the goals you make yourself aren't exactly the peak of motivation.
@cowanon @NEETzsche
Minecraft is sandbox but not an engineering one.
It's not what I was talking about.
@NEETzsche
Nah, they just fail to make them disapear.
@LukeAlmighty this is how i felt with planet coaster. there was a shit ton of freedom to build whatever you wanted, but it wa all just building blocks. pretty much no prefabs included and you had to get that kin of stuff from the team workshop. pinnacle of "the community will do it so we don't have to."
@Corfiot
Again, that is a factory builder...
A 100 times better genre, that sometimes can fall to the same issue, but it takes much longer to reach that point.
But, since there seem to be the definition issue, I meant games, where you construct entire mechanisms (cars, planes) from scratch to complete your goal.
Trailmakers
Space engineers
Plasma (not out, but seems triggered the rant)
Scrap Mechanic
@Corfiot
But yeah, Satisfactory failed for me for a different issue. The factory cannot grow peoperly, if you need to place every single belt manually, and walk for killometers.
@Corfiot
Yeah, sure. But when I was playing it, even the vacuum tubes and ziplines felt unbelievabely slow after a while.
What do you mean by “content”? Like, a win condition?
