I never understood the people, who are public and proud about their piracy habbits.

But it's still giving the easiest ammo to the cops in case they need to get rid of you.

@LukeAlmighty if the cops need to "get rid of you" chances are they already have other dirt on you anyway

@LukeAlmighty the government actually doesn't give a single shit about piracy. the entities who own the copyrights do and so the government has to enforce copyright law if said entities get mad enough. most of the time though it's not even a legal issue it's just threats for cutting off services and things of that nature. when there are legal issues, it's usually towards the crackers and major distributors, not downloaders. that's why people in the scene try to stay anonymous.
