Only one I wouldn't quote myself is the guardian one, and not even cause it's The Guardian. But they cite a biography book, that let's face it, it's probably based on rumors and hearsay. At least with the medical stuff you have actual evidence and medical records.

Define "looked real"? Cause there are tests that can be done on the paper and ink to certify the time period, so you'll know it's not some recent scam someone is pulling.
It could still potentially be a century old prank, of Hitler's war buddies, making it seem like he lost his testicle, but the farther away you get, the least likely it is that someone would hold on to a document they faked for a stupid prank.
While we are at it we could get into Helen Keller and what a fucking scam that was.
Or more recently Stephen Hawking. That was faked right before your eyes.
I don't really want to defend Hitler, but coming up with shit 80 years after the fact smacks of "Thomas Jefferson fucked his slaves!" (He didn't but his cousin did)
Truth is, you want those things to be true because the rulebook states you must humiliate your enemy. For the same reason the blood libels (which I don't believe in, by the by) worked for a millenia. Humans will believe anything if they want to.

I feel like I should know what you're referring to surrounding Helen Keller, but I don't. And I have no clue what you think was faked about Hawking. Any clarification on these two things would be appreciated.

Helen Keller was deaf and blind. No one before or since with this affliction could ever understand or communicate complex ideas the way Helen Keller did. Because she didn't. All of her ideas and opinions magically mirrored the feminist views of her caretaker Anne Sullivan.
Stephen Hawking communicated rapidly by twitching a face muscle through a computer in a time period where that technology was what... only available to him? Also how long can a dude live with ALS? There is evidence that his colleagues and the government used him as a front facing sympathetic figure.
Where is the claim that she was unable to hear or see at all?

I believe it can be done, but what would normally take a child a few years to master by himself, it would basically take maybe even decades for someone like that. My blind guess is that at best she knew only a small number of words, and she had to practice long and hard to speak phrases for reporters.
