Seriously, can someone explain to me the obsession with tipping in restaurants?
I get I can tip people if they do something special, but weitress is a job like literally any other.

Don't know how it is in other countries, but from what I've personally seen, restaurants intentionally underpay their waiters, and use the prospect of "you're gonna get untaxed tips" as a bonus to attract employees to work for them. So from the waiter's perspective, the tip IS part of their salary that the employer promised they'd get.
