@matana @applejack @LukeAlmighty the point is that you have to use up way more resources and way more space for "green" power methods to be efficient and even then, their energy footprint will only make up for itself after decades of use while also needing to be subsidized by other "dirty" methods of power. In doing so, people are destroying a lot more land and disrupting more natural ecosystems while trying to offset the amount of co2 in the atmosphere. Pretty much every method of power has its downsides but a lot of people who want to "go green" are ignorant to that, sometimes wilfully. Another way you could show that in comic form would be some fruit driving an electric car thinking they're doing something good for the environment but then the next panel would be how many resources it takes to make the car and how the electricity the car uses is actually generated.
With your "technology" example, if the whole world switched to clean energy it would take a lot of time and drastically more space to generate the same amount of power we generate now in order to use and create the technology. I think "clean" energy should be used when possible, but it has to make sense. I still think we should be leaning way more into nuclear power because it's way more efficient than anything else and the factory is going to take up similar amounts of space. We have ways of dealing with all of its other problems at this point.
