gonna' go see violent night, haven't watched a movie period since sonic 2.

Don't look up was.... funny.
Political, and sometimes oversimplified, but definitely complex enough to entertain.

@LukeAlmighty don't even know what that is tbh, i'm pretty far removed from the movie world. i didn't even know violent night was a thing until one of my roommates asked if i wanted to go.

Same here. I was disgusted to hear that there is a recent trend in kids movies where the producers like to include scat references. The most recent SpongeBob movie had Patrick eating from Gary's litter-box and apparently this isn't the only movie to do this lately.

@beardalaxy @xianc78 @LukeAlmighty back when I was younger the complaints were on violence and fart jokes in kids films.

Madagascar was a prime target of this because of how King Julien was using a plane crash with skeletons of the pilots there as a place to lecture everyone. There was also a highly infamous deleted scene in cars where lightning McQueen blew through a railroad crossing and they deleted it because it'd imply reckless driving. This was accompanied by kids movies turning from G rated to the PG rating encompassing literally everything solely due to crude humor and violence.

Now? Oh right. It's so much fucking worse these days good lord.

I have two copies of that film and neither one of those has that scene cut out. Was it cut out from later copies?
